It saddens me that there looks to be only one non .Net talk in the line up...

I heard from Cory Smith the other day about how he's putting together a Cowtown Code Camp and that he only knows how to contact .Net people, therefore that's all that ever get in the lineup.

It seems like there isn't much effort into learning other platforms or technologies... along the lines of "Gee, it's much easier to ignore the others and not know anything about them and go on my merry little way down the rut..."

I'm not saddened by it. Would it be better if there was more Ruby or Java or Eiffel talks? Maybe, maybe not. I'm much more interested in getting developers to talk about what they're really interested about. If that's Ruby or C# or Python or SQL, it doesn't matter to me.

It would be nice in some respects if the topics were more heterogeneous (sp?), like the 1st CC was, but I've always included all the speakers on the initial "another code camp is coming, do you want to speak?" e-mail invite, and I don't get responses. So...it is what it is :)

But do you think that sending emails out to the people who have spoke before is enough?

Outside of marketing the group to the same speakers and .Net crowds, there could be more effort put into the other communities.

I'm sure there are TONS of other developers who want to talk about their product or technology but just don't hear about it.

Please don't take this personally, because like I said in my first comment, there are TONS of other events like this that behave the same way...

I don't know if it's enough, but I've always been able to fill the slots with people who love to talk about what they're doing. That's the most important thing to me. I'm sure there are lot of people in the Twin Cities area who have never heard about TCCC, but there's only so much advertising one can do.

I would agree... so maybe the idea would be to just send out the email to the standard people again... and possibly get the list of people who attended...

Then focus all of the time on sending emails out to the larger non-.Net user groups... like the ruby.mn group and OTUG... and others.

Btw, great work on putting this together, I'm trying to make this constructive criticism...
