Converted to Subtext

The site's conversion to Subtext is done, and it was completely hassle and bug free. The folks at SubText did an excellent job with the .Text import utility and the Subtext installation screens. What's even better is that all of the permalinks on the site still work.

So... I had to update my current skin to work with Subtext, and in the process of making small changes to get it to work, I took advantage of some of the new Subtext controls. In this skin, you'll see a new Search feature and also a calendar to take you to a specific day in the archives. I'm psyched about the Search feature - it's such a basic thing that kindohm.com has been lacking.

Your problem is that you aren't enjoying the site. Try refreshing the page in your browse, read some of the information on the page, then enjoy what you've read. If your problem persists, restart Windows.

Glad that things went well for you... that was one of our highest priority items when building out Subtext v1.0 -- simplicity and usability for the user.

Also, the skin looks good... and I thought I'd let you know that I'm currently building a subText skin that was inspired by your GlueBlur theme. I'll let you know when its done so you can check it out.

Love the skin! Perhaps you could make it a little more generic and submit it to subtextskins.com.
(When it's up, of course)

BTW: The search feature is not functioning correctly (at least not for me). I think you are missing the "Results" portion of the control...

I love the way you formatted the Recent Comments control. That was my adopted baby. I didn't write any of the code, with the exception that I figured out (mostly) how to set variables via the admin interface...

But I digress.

Glad you guys like the skin. I definitely plan to work on a "generic" version of it in the near future.

As for the search result, I'm using some Javascript that hides the search results (below the search box) when no search results are present. But when viewing the HTML source of the page it looks like no search results are being rendered to the page at all after performing a search. Not sure what the problem is, but I'll have to dig in. Thanks for catching the problem though.

It appears that the search only works on the home page. When you drill down into a specific post and perform a search, no results show up. Perhaps that's why you said you didn't see any search results, Vern. I eliminated the Javascript feature because I realized I didn't need it, and to eliminate the possibility of the script causing a problem.

Any idea what the issue might be with searching on non-home pages?

I have a problem. I don't know what it is, which means I really have 2 problems... but as soon as I figure them out, I'll let you know.
